Organization

IMS began as a distributed organization where professionals worked by dividing and conquering tasks based on their individual merits and skills. As the business grew and IMS established its core management team, the Firm consciously evolved to emphasize the values of alignment, collaboration and teamwork forming a more centralized organization for everyone to come together for strength and leverage. This evolution has continued to take shape in its final form as a federated organization balancing both the strengths of flexible, talented and empowered individuals together with the core values, collaborative contributions and leveraged internal service delivery of the organization to create a one-of-a-kind capability where the whole Firm is greater than the sum of the parts.

Strategic Sourcing

IMS employs a committed team of experts invested in relationship building and project delivery. Roughly one third of the organization consists of professionals whose focus is IMS consulting. The additional two thirds of the organization is made up of individual, specially defined network experts who participate in both internal and external projects on a flexible schedule depending on when and where their skill sets best contribute. By strategically sourcing from each of these groups IMS is able to drive projects with a flexible and agile team of experts that encompass a breadth and depth of experience and expertise. IMS also views our objective, unbiased vendor relationships as a source of resource capacity and leverage. Unlike most consulting organizations that are employed to resell or recommend vendor solutions, IMS maintains an arms length relationship with vendors during any transaction to protect our alignment with the clients' best interests. This approach actually strengthens our relationship with vendors at the same time as we build long-term, trusted relationships based on the quality of service delivery by the vendor and not compensation. As such, IMS covers an explicit strategy of developing intimate relationships with vendors and professionals within vendors that are recognized for their integrity and ability to deliver on projects enabling both IMS and our clients to succeed at a higher level through leveraging the contribution of the partners selected to work on projects.

Career Growth

IMS has embraced an environment where experts are continuously growing and thriving in their careers. Junior level professionals can start their IMS career as a Portfolio Consultant, assisting and directing internal and external project activity. From there, a number of subject matter and service delivery paths lay before their interests and talents.
